What is centre disc concealed fixing?

This is a metal disc that sits within a rebate at the rear of round handles. It fixes the handle to the door face without being seen. See example below. 
 


 

What style handles will have this type of fixing?

Any round joinery/cupboard/entry or internal door handles that require a concealed fitting.

Disc fittings are suitable from handles from 90mm to 300mm in diameter. 


Hardware supplied

  • 1 x threaded rod
  • 1 x metal disk
  • 4 x screws


Safety

  • Always follow the manufacturer’s safety instructions when using power tools and adhesives
  • Wear safety glasses throughout the installation
     

Step 1: Set up

You will need:

  • 8-12mm drill, depending upon the size of the threaded rod
  • Phillips head screwdriver and/or Allen key (for larger handles) 
  • Safety glasses
  • Handle and fittings

NB: It is highly recommended you apply the finish of your choice to the handles prior to installation.

 

Step 2: Prepare the door

a) Locate and mark the position for the handle on the door

b) Drill a shallow hole approx *10-15mm deep at the marked location (this is to allow a clearance for the threaded rod when
    fully wound in during step 4).

   
*Check the diameter of the threaded rod and refer to this chart below for the diameter of the drill hole. 

 

                           


c) Fix the metal disk to the door using the 4 screws & screwdriver. Aligning the centre hole with the drilled hole in the door.
 



Step 3: Prepare the handle fitting

Gently wind the threaded rod into the rear of the handle as shown in the image below. Threaded rods of larger handles may have an Allen key hex to assist with tightening. 

 

 

Step 4: Install

Insert the other end of the threaded rod into the centre hole of the metal disk mounted on the door. Wind the handle on until secure (see image 4 below).

 NB: Exterior handles require a quality exterior finish on all surfaces including the entire rear surface to protect from water damage.
