Install Centre Fixed Handles - Back to Back

What is a centre fixing for back-to-back set?

Handle sets with this type of fitting have one fixing in the centre of the handle.

This type of fitting is also a concealed back-to-back fitting, i.e. the fitting will not be seen.  

 


 


What style handles will have this type of fixing?

  • Any back-to-back round handle set


Hardware supplied

  • 1 x threaded rod
  • 1 x pre-fixed metal thread in each handle
     

                   



Safety

  • Always follow the manufacturer’s safety instructions when using power tools and adhesives
  • Wear safety glasses throughout the installation


Step 1: Set up
You will need

  • 4-12mm drill, depending upon the size of the fitting
  • Safety glasses
  • Handle set and fittings


Step 2: Prepare the door
 

a) Locate and mark the position of the handles on the door. Take into account the recommended height and distance
     in from the edge of the door below.

 

     


b) Referring to the chart below, drill a hole through the door at the point marked out above
     *Be sure to check the size of the fitting prior to drilling. 

          


Step 3: Prepare the handle fitting

Select one handle and wind the threaded rod into the metal insert at the rear of the handle. Wind in fully (not tight) then unwind to bring back approx 5mm.

 

     
 


Step 4: Install

a) Insert the other end of the threaded rod through the predrilled hole in the door. 

b) On the other side of the door, wind the second handle onto the thread and tighten


c) Stand back to check

d) Take a quick snap and send it to us!

 

 NB: Exterior handles require a quality exterior finish on all surfaces including the entire rear surface to protect from water damage.
